From 1 December 2021, fully vaccinated eligible visa holders will be able to enter Australia without needing to apply for a travel exemption!
Eligible visa holders include skilled and student cohorts, as well as humanitarian, working holiday makers and provisional family visa holders.
“The return of skilled workers and students to Australia is a major milestone in our pathway back,” says Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
This latest announcement means that those who meet criteria, can travel without needing a border exemption or potentially, MIQ.
Australia has also announced that it will reopen quarantine-free entry to fully vaccinated citizens from Japan and the Republic of Korea from 1 December 2021. This follows the announcement that fully vaccinated Singaporeans can come to Australia without needing to apply for a travel exemption.
We expect that the Australian government will continue to add to the list of those able to travel for tourism, along with migrants who are moving to Australia under the skilled migration pathways.
