Rio Tinto operate the largest privately owned and operated heavy haul rail system in Australia with a vision to becoming the greatest heavy haul railway in the world. They are searching for qualified Rail Engineers to join their team.
Western Australia provides one the largest deposits of Iron Ore across the globe and Rio Tinto contribute greatly to this, transporting ore from their 16 mine sites to four port terminals. Their 200 locomotives operate across more than 1,700 kilometres of track in the Pilbara. Each return trip averages at about 800 kilometres with the journey cycle, including loading and dumping, taking approximately 40 hours.
Rio Tinto’s state-of-the-art operations centre is based in Perth’s eastern suburbs with an exceptional head office of professionals in Perth’s Central Business District headquarters.

This role is for applicants residing in or willing to permanently relocate to Western Australia. Rio Tinto offers Fly in and fly out options from Perth, our regional FIFO hubs and the opportunity to live in our residential towns where applicable.
